In this exhibition, Meredith McCarthy invites us to consider the lotus flower and water lily as metaphors for transformation, resilience and hope.
Rising from the darkness of a muddy pond, the water lily reaches towards the light and opens into something beautiful. Its journey reminds us that even during difficult periods, growth and renewal remain possible.
We continue to experience the effects of global conflict, climate change, uncertainty and the lasting emotional impact of the pandemic. These shared challenges have contributed to increased anxiety and disconnection for many people. Meredith’s paintings offer a gentle invitation to pause, reconnect with nature and remember the light that exists within us.
